Realized #Italon Project: Budget-Friendly Studio with an Upscale Feel
The design of a small apartment should be beautiful, yet comfortable. In Andrey Nechaev’s projects, these concepts always coincide: “functionality is often beautiful in itself”, he tells us.
Simple shapes and glossy surfaces work great in small spaces. This combination is usually appreciated by young and dynamic people, like the owner of this apartment in St. Petersburg.
The finishing concept is based on an unsurpassed combination of textures, where marble, wood, metal and concrete are used in a balanced proportion. The entrance hall and the kitchen-living room are united through bright glossy flooring, made with Charme Extra Lasa 60×120 Lux porcelain stoneware. It does wonders when it comes to visually expanding the area.
The kitchen walls also feature marble effect tiles, Charme Evo Calacatta 60×120 in a Lux finish, and have been left almost free of cabinets, since there are plenty of storage cases. The front edges of those cases are painted black for an impactful visual effect. It is a very interesting, modern and budget-friendly trick.
The bathroom was decorated with concrete effect porcelain stoneware from two different collections: Millennium Pure 60×120 in matt finish for the walls and Urban Coal 60×60 in matt finish for the floor.
