Eternum. A new collection, inspired by bog oak wood

The Eternum collection by Italon is a modern interpretation of bog oak – a unique material with a centuries-old history. Solid as a rock and strong as steel, it is made from oak wood that has lain at the bottom of a river underwater for several centuries.

In this article, we will tell you about the color range of the Eternum collection and highlight its main features.

The timeless charm of bog oak wood is embodied in 4 wood-effect tile colors:

• Acero,
• Rovere,
• Fume,
• Mogano.

 

For stylish combinations, the collection is complemented with:

• Porcelain stoneware with plaster effect in colors Snow, Cremo, Gold, and Caffè,
• Porcelain stoneware with a marble effect in colors Carrara and Vulcano,

Bog oak wood, with its centuries-old history, has found new life in the original combinations of the Eternum series, embodying traditions and transforming them into a true symbol of the future.

BACK TO THE ORIGINS OF THE BOG OAK

 

Following the erosion of riverbanks, the oak trees settle on the riverbed and are covered by a layer of silt, where the tannins of the oak combined with
the chemical elements of the water prevent the trunks from decomposing. The wood is then extracted and dried for years to create bog oak.

Thanks to the Eternum project, one of the rarest and most precious materials in the world, is now transformed into a sophisticated porcelain stoneware.

THE HISTORY OF WOOD IMMERSED IN THE FUTURE

 

Fumé and Mogano are the two most distinctive colours in the collection, which draw direct inspiration from the dark tones of trees immersed in the rivers, to which the two lighter colours, Acero and Rovere, are added.

All the wood colours are available in 20×160 tiles with a slightly textured natural finish.

Ideal for combining with Tatami mosaic.

RAW STYLE COMBINATIONS

 

Evoking the rough appearance of raw earth and the granularity of plaster, Snow, Cream, Gold and Coffee are the 4 Eternum colours, specifically created to interrupt the space dedicated to wood with another naturally inspired material.

The 60×120 size for all colours is ideal when combined with the new Kaleido mosaic, which, with its irregular shapes, always creates a mood of great authenticity.

 

TWO MARBLES, UNIQUE ELEGANCE

 

Eternum’s Full Design Project is best expressed by the two marbles dedicated to the collection.

 

Carrara, with its warm veins in shades of beige, and Volcano with its patches of colour and infinite shades that recall the myth of Mother Nature.

 

The slabs are available in an 9 mm thick 80×160 size – both in a natural finish and in the prestigious lux finish for a shiny, mirrored look – and in a large 6 mm 120×278 size.

 

On Carrara, the Vertex mosaic with gold inserts enhances luxury and exclusivity.

WITH GLASS FOR VIBRANT WALLS

 

The natural feeling of wood produces a magical contrast of light with Eternum coloured glass: Glass Coral, orange with warm, earthy nuances; and Glass Avio, an intense grey with strong blue undertones. Both are available in an 80×160 size with a lux finish; they coordinate perfectly with Mosaic Lounge to create a psychedelic effect in bathrooms or niches for great appeal.

The Kaliedo mosaic in Snow, Cream, Gold, and Coffee colors with pixels of irregular geometric shape will fill the space with a fresh aesthetic and expressiveness.

The Lounge mosaic with a dynamic design in Glass Coral and Glass Avio colors will create a bright visual effect in the interior and be a beautiful solution for an accent wall in the bathroom.

The Vertex mosaic with golden inserts in the Carrara color will help create a luxurious and memorable design.

The Tatami decor with wooden slat effect in Acero, Rovere, Fumè, and Mogano colors will add originality and rhythm to the interior design.
