Italon Open Day in Arkhangelsk

On April 27th, we held a presentation of the new Metropolis collection for professionals in the field of design and architecture from the city of Arkhangelsk; the presentation was a part of a special event called Italon Open Days.

In the Italon Experience showroom, guests were able to see a selection that faithfully recreates the most beautiful stones from around the world as well as the unique shades of Murano glass embodied by Metropolis porcelain stoneware. One of the expositions was completely dedicated to the novelties and allowed guests to experience the atmosphere of the collection. The stylish interior combined the lightest shade Royal Ivory with ivory stone effect and the charismatic and contrasting Arcadia Brown. The accent walls were adorned with glass effect tiles Glass Sand and arched mosaics with Elegant Royal gold inlays.

Representatives of the Italon factory in the Northwestern Federal District Sergey Benchuk and marketing department specialist Maria Tokareva demonstrated the entire range of Metropolis collection at the exhibition stands and drew the attention of professionals to the nuances of graphics of each color. For example, realistic cracks on the surface of Desert Beige, black inclusions in Graphite Dark stone and white veins with a 3D effect in Absolute Silver.

During the event, guests could not stop comparing porcelain stoneware to natural materials. Modern technologies make it possible to recreate the smallest nuances of graphics on ceramics, as well as add the texture of natural material to the surface of the tile. This gives the impression that floors and walls of the interior were actually decorated with natural marble, stone or wood. But when implementing projects, it is important to take into account not only the aesthetic component of the material, but also the technical characteristics. All the characteristics of porcelain stoneware such as strength, practicality, aesthetics and versatility make it obvious that no other material could compete with it, and it is truly an ideal finishing material. It confidently occupies the niche of natural materials and positively leads over traditional ceramics (wall tiles).

The presentation of the new Metropolis collection had among its speakers the most sought-after tile layer in Arkhangelsk: Sergey Belyaev. He has extensive experience with Italon products, including porcelain stoneware. He took the first place in the competition among all russian tile layers at the meeting in Moscow and left dozens of satisfied customers, which proves his high level of craft. Designers and architects had a unique opportunity to ask questions about tiles directly from Italon factory representatives and get professional advice from an experienced craftsman. Read about non-standard porcelain stoneware products in the article “The Art of Working with Porcelain Stoneware”.
